We celebrate the feminine side of our culinary world at this year’s star-studded 2018 CenterStage gala. An unprecedented gathering of exceptionally talented women in the food and beverage arts showcases the work of such luminaries as:
- Sharon Hage (formerly of York Street)
- Bria Downey (Clay Pigeon Food & Drink)
- Callie Salls (Meyer & Sage)
- Denise Shavandy (Café Modern)
- Megan Potts (rise n°3)
- Rocio Urbina (The Fort Worth Club)
These dishes are paired with wines presented by female winemakers and proprietors from Veuve Clicquot, Trefethen Vineyards, Rancho Loma Vineyards, Cakebread Cellars and Hall Wines, and each is poured by an all-female team of sommeliers from the North Texas area.
The evening’s spotlight ultimately falls on Renie Steves, the first female recipient of the Walter Kaufmann Lifetime Achievement Award. Renie’s extraordinary list of accomplishments include co-founding Fort Worth’s first cooking education program, The French Apron, judging international wine competitions, writing a wine column and several cookbooks, and serving as president of the prestigious international women’s culinary organization, Les Dames d’Escoffier.
